Pom Team 〰️

2020 Competitive Pom Team

Fusion Dance Center’s Pom Team was started in 2018 as a part of Imagery, but in 2022-23, we are revamped the Pom Team program to be two stand alone teams! These teams will primarily focus on pom dance technique but may also include hip hop and jazz elements. These teams do not require an audition or additional classes outside of pom, but are intended to attend various clinics from the likes of Atomic Pom and MSU Dance Team and community events such as parades, ball games, social centers, and festivals.

We have two Pom Teams, both of which rehearse on Tuesday nights. One Team is for learning basic technique and recreational performances only, and the other Team is for competition level dances to attend competitions such as Mid American Pom Regionals/States and Hip Hop/High Kick competitions and regional dance competitions. Dancers ages 7+ may participate in our recreational performance team that is on Tuesdays 7:45-8:30 and dancers 13+ may request to join the Competition Pom Team that meets Tuesdays 8:30-9:30. Dancers 11-12 may join the Competition Pom Team as “trainees” that study as a member of the team but may not necessarily compete yet. An assessment will be made by the Pom Coach and Studio Owner to determine the competing members of the team (this is somewhat like being “on the mat” for cheer). Join us for Pom rehearsals this season!

Pom Team members must commit to a Code of Conduct since they will be representing Fusion Dance Center in public settings. All team members must conduct themselves consistent with studio rules, and in a manner that reflects the studio values of community, honesty, integrity, wellness, kindness, compassion, and quality. Our team members are expected to be role models both in and out of the studio. We want all team members to find satisfaction and joy in their work and discover their unique talents while uplifting and cheering on teammates!
